As the Second in History, you will work alongside the Head of History to ensure the department runs smoothly and effectively. You will play a crucial role in leading curriculum development, supporting teaching staff, and promoting a love of history among our students.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
* You will be an excellent practitioner willing to be creative and ambitious in creating engaging, inspiring and effective lessons.
* Modelling T&L and professional behaviours in line with the school and department values.
* Contributing to the development of the department curriculum and development plans.
* Will continue to develop the department's growing rapport and relationship with students through their passion.
* Will be a positive role model for the department at parents and open evenings and on trips.
* Contributing to the quality assurance and implementation of department policy, for example, homework and assessment.
* Actively engaging in and delivering aspects of department CPD.
* Supporting the Head of Department in the management and use of cover, both emergency and long term.
* Deputising for the Head of Department when required.
* Supporting with the implementation of the department and school behaviour policies.
* Any other reasonable requests from the Head of Department or Headteacher.

Requirements
* A degree in History, Education, or a related field.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Proven experience teaching History at the secondary level.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
* Experience in curriculum development and assessment practices is advantageous.
