Core Responsibilities
1. You will contribute to projects across all three of our clients Engineering and Consultancy Services markets (Oil and Gas, Offshore Wind, and Low Carbon), with key responsibilities including:
2. Concept development and feasibility studies for challenging marginal, HPHT, and deep-water subsea developments in the Oil & Gas sector.
3. Design and analysis of CO2 and H2 onshore and offshore pipelines in the Low Carbon sector.
4. Supporting junior engineers or executing independently typical tasks in FEED studies such as pipeline mechanical design, pipeline routing, stress analysis, producing datasheets and specifications, supporting CAD drawings etc.
5. Subsea cable routing, mechanical design, analysis and assessment in the Offshore Wind and Oil & Gas sectors.
6. Building and maintaining client relationships and contributing to successful proposals and tenders.
7. Leading integrity management, life extension, and decommissioning studies.
8. Using analytical or non-linear FE methods to solve diverse and complex subsea pipeline and subsea cable problems.
9. Developing onshore pipeline routing criteria and routing maps, allowing for environmental, safety, land rights and legal considerations.
10. Participation in innovation projects to continually streamline our toolkits for delivering our assessments.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience
1. Engineering degree (honours or equivalent) in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Naval Architecture or similar engineering discipline.
2. Chartered status.
3. Experience of providing Engineering and Consultancy Services in one or more of the following markets: Oil and Gas, Offshore Wind, and Low Carbon.
4. Understanding of the fundamentals of subsea and pipeline engineering, and of regulatory frameworks, codes, and standards. Understanding of global buckling, limit states, and HPHT issues is considered advantageous.
5. Experience of concept / feasibility design studies for subsea developments; experience of FEED.
6. Experience of integrity management of subsea pipelines is considered advantageous.
7. Experience of pipeline analysis to support design and operations; in-depth knowledge of finite element methods is considered advantageous.
8. Experience in the design and analysis of subsea cables is considered advantageous.
9. Experience in the design and assessment of CO2 and H2 onshore and offshore pipelines is considered advantageous.
10. Proven success in delivering studies and preparing clear, concise reports against time, cost, and quality objectives.
11. Enthusiasm to challenge existing practices, improve technical methodologies and analysis techniques.
12. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, and mature approach to work.
