Position: Senior IT Technician
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 (DOE)
Location: Gloucester (4 days on-site, 1 day remote per week)
We are working with a rapidly growing Managed Service Provider in Swindon who are looking to bring in a Senior IT Technician to join their team. This role will focus on project work delivering new technologies across their network and infrastructure and acting as an escalation point to the service desk.
What will you be doing as a Senior IT Technician?
1. Provide on-site and remote support for hardware, software, and network issues.
2. Provide 2nd / 3rd line support to users.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents swiftly to minimise downtime.
4. Manage and maintain user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
5. Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
6. Monitor and maintain servers, networks, and security protocols.
7. Assist with the deployment and maintenance of cloud solutions.
What experience do you need as a Senior IT Technician?
1. Previous experience of 2nd line support with end users.
2. Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365.
3. Knowledge of virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
4. Familiarity with Azure and Azure AD.
5. Hands-on experience with networking hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
6. Ability to configure and support printers, VoIP phones, and mobile devices.
7. Proficient in using remote support tools like TeamViewer or AnyDesk.
8. Previous experience in an education setting would be beneficial but not essential.
9. You must hold a valid UK Drivers Licence.
