Maintenance Technician / Burnfoot
Overview of the role
Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking to recruit an ambitious and motivated technician to join our maintenance team in the Powerbar department. This new position presents an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain exposure pertaining to the CNC 5 – 7 axis automated lines.
Key responsibilities
1. Knowledge of OEM machine controllers (FANUC and Siemens);
2. Perform mechanical repairs (and rebuild) on all machines;
3. Pull and replace machine linear guides and ball screws;
4. Support with scheduling PM, reading report, diagrams and drawings;
5. Working knowledge of tool Probing function for CNC Mill Machines;
6. Able to work with complex NC machine up to & including 5-7 Axis;
7. Perform machine levelling and alignment on all machines;
8. Identify and replace parts as necessary;
9. Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain machine tool equipment and controls;
10. Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues;
11. General facilities maintenance;
12. Coordinate with external suppliers and maintenance companies to ensure timely and accurate completion of work;
13. Work based on a sense of urgency with machine down conditions;
14. In conjunction with production team, will support continuous improvement of development of PM instructions and schedules to prevent failures;
15. Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, software, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
Requirements:
1. Must have a valid driver’s license;
2. Minimum of three year’s experience in performing maintenance of CNC machines;
3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
4. HNC/HND or equivalent qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, including 2+ years of CNC maintenance experience;
5. Endeavour to ensure that all Health & Safety standards are adhered to;
6. Excellent word processing and IT skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word & Outlook, and other software tools;
7. Analytical thinking skills;
