Stoneyhill Primary School is a non-denominational primary school situated at the west end of Musselburgh. The school caters for children from ages 3 to 12. At the time of writing, there are ten classes P1-P7 in school, with a total roll of 256. This includes a number of children from Craighall PS who are being hosted at Stoneyhill until the new school opens next session. The 48 week nursery caters for 3 and 4 year olds with two groups of 24 children attending half the week each.
Set within a pleasing landscaped area, the main school is a semi-open plan design. Eight class bays open onto a central multi-purpose group activity area. There are four closed classrooms, with two used for whole school music and Article 31 Playroom. In addition there is a Library/Meeting room, offices, medical room and sports hall. The school is accessible to those with physical disabilities.
The remit for the DHT includes 0.5 class commitment. It is desirable for applicants to have knowledge and experience of ASN and high quality Early Level provision, both nursery and P1.

Job Details
The role of a Depute Head Teacher is to assist and, where necessary, to deputise for the Head Teacher as required. The role of the Head Teacher is, within the resources available, to conduct the affairs of the school to the benefit of the pupils and the community it serves, through pursuing objectives and implementing policies set by East Lothian Council under the overall direction of the Head of Education.

Full GTCS Registration is required.
PVG Membership This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

Please Note - Pay arrangements for those starting after 1st day of school session
In accordance with Teachers Conditions of Service (SNCT - Appendix 2.19), Teachers who commence employment with East Lothian Council after the first day of the school session will have their salary for the remainder of the school salary year (which runs from 1 August to 31 July each year), ; recalculated to reflect how teachers accrue leave and pay.
In these circumstances, a calculation will be carried out upon commencement of employment and leave and pay will be adjusted. Further information will be provided to the successful candidate should this be applicable.
