As a Reception and Accommodation Manager, you’ll support the Hostel Manager with the day-to-day management of the hostel, creating a great place for our teams to work and ensuring our guests have a great experience.

What will you be doing as a Reception and Accommodation Manager?
We are a friendly team and will provide the training required for you to undertake the role. However, there is plenty for you to get stuck into from day one, including:
* Leading the team in providing excellent and consistent levels of customer service to agreed YHA standards
* Monitoring and controlling expenditure within the reception function
* Using our systems for efficient guest check-ins and check-outs, food and beverage sales and service, and other management functions
* Managing the rota to ensure correct levels of staffing in reception
* Deputising for the Hostel/Deputy Manager, managing the daily hostel operation in their absence
What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Reception and Accommodation Manager?
Our Reception and Accommodation Managers are responsible for the line management of their teams within their own hostels, along with managing occasional volunteers and the operational budget.
To provide this service, we are looking for candidates who have:
* Experience in hospitality or customer service, including the management and delivery of a quality service
* Experience of managing a team – leading others and providing guidance
* NVQ Level 3 in Customer Services, Hospitality, or Tourism (desirable)
* Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications (desirable)
* Ability to manage varying pressures, including peaks in workload demands
* Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office) – able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
* Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA
