We are looking for dynamic people with excellent leadership and management skills to help support our:
* Superstore Managers and their teams
* E-commerce Manager and their team and the online operation
Dougie Mac operates 21 charity shops across North Staffordshire, an E-bay platform, and a Recycling and Service Centre; with over 90 staff members and the support of around 500 volunteers. Our charity shop retail activities are a vital source of income for Dougie Mac Hospice, which delivers the very best palliative care for adults, children, and young adults with incurable conditions, wherever and whenever local people need us.
Job Description & Person Specification below - Please note, our shortlisting process is based on these documents. In accordance with our safer recruitment policy, CVs alone will not be accepted. We are strongly committed to the safeguarding of our adults and children.
At Dougie Mac, we are recruiting employees to join our rapidly growing team. We currently have over 400 employees who work together to provide exceptional care and support to patients and their families in North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
Your goal would be to ensure your cluster of shops maximizes every opportunity to sell the donated goods received from the public; all staff and volunteers feel supported and equipped to perform at their best; donors feel appreciated and donate again and again. On one hand, you will be adopting coaching and performance management skills, and on the other, you will take a hands-on approach to give very real assistance. No two days are the same; it is a busy, fast-paced job - but one with the unique satisfaction of knowing your efforts ultimately help people at a time when they need help the most - patients, children, and service users of Dougie Mac.
It is important that candidates can demonstrate working in a field-based retail team management role and working with large-scale retail sites, preferably with some charity sector retail experience. You should show strong interpersonal and communication abilities, as well as IT and numeric abilities. Training will be given ranging from induction to ongoing role-specific learning and development. We do not trade on Sundays, we rarely open on bank holidays, and we provide a healthcare package too.
Why Join Dougie Mac?
* 35 days of annual leave, rising with length of service
* Options to buy and sell annual leave
* Hospice paid Healthcare Cash Plan
* Competitive Pension Scheme
* Paid for DBS by the hospice
* Learning & Development opportunities
Hours: 40 hours a week (5 over 6 days, Closed on Sundays)
Salary: £30,250 to £32,954 per annum
The role will require a DBS check, which would be processed and paid for by the Hospice. A driving licence is required and daily use of a vehicle.
