PAY SCALE: NJC Band 7 Points 26-29 (Actual Salary £31,071-£33,223)
HOURS: 36.25 hours per week (08:00 16:00), term time, plus 1 week (39 weeks in total)

Are you seeking a fantastic opportunity to be part of an expanding new and dynamic SEND team with a clear vision of ‘positively changing lives’? This vital role requires an individual who will safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, ensuring their well-being while adhering to school policies and the staff code of conduct. As Assistant SEND Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the best possible educational experience.

As Assistant SEND Co-ordinator, you will support the SENDCo and work alongside a dedicated team of HLTA’s and LSA’s to collaborate with staff, parents, and outside agencies to provide support and guidance to students with special educational needs. This will include monitoring and reviewing the quality of SEND provision, ensuring our SEND Policy is implemented effectively, and supporting staff in maintaining high standards of provision.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Experience of working successfully with students/young people and their families.
2. A recognised qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN), such as a SENDCo qualification, or working towards one.
3. Experience of working with children or young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
4. Sound knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, pupils, and external agencies.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
7. The ability to establish relationships with students and their families.
8. The ability to organise, motivate and inspire students.
