Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Consultant Psychiatrist to work in an exceptional neurological service based in the St Neots, Cambridgeshire area. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.
This hospital provides care, therapeutic, and rehabilitation pathways for individuals affected by neurological or mental health conditions, where challenging behaviour may be the primary impairment.
Requirements: To be considered, you must have an MRCPsych or equivalent with full GMC registration.
Key responsibilities:
* Responsible for the administration of the Mental Health Act, Clinical Policy, Clinical Standards, and related administrative tasks for service users.
* Manage and evaluate the medical service through audits, ensuring clinical policies and practices are research-based and of high standard.
* Collaborate with external stakeholders to facilitate service users' transition back into the community.
* Chair ward MDT (ICR) meetings.
* Ensure the effective operation of the Care Programme Approach for service users.
* Assess referrals to ensure appropriate admissions.
* Contribute to staff training, education, and development.
* Participate in Clinical Governance activities.
Preferred skills and experience:
* Excellent communication skills.

* Leadership qualities.
* Ability to effect change professionally and organizationally.
* Knowledge of current developments in psychiatry and mental health legislation.
* Experience in a consultant and management role.
