Job Purpose
The Apps and Automation team is focused on delivering digital solutions to drive business efficiencies, primarily using Robotic Process Automation and Web and Mobile apps. The Agile Business Analyst role will work within the web and mobile app service and become part of the DevOps team to deliver new products and enhancements to existing products for our UU colleagues and partners.
Job Accountabilities
* To ensure the Health, Safety and Wellbeing management framework is embedded in all activities and our Health and Safety belief statement is a reality.
* Work as part of the Apps and Automation Team in Data and Analytics to drive through continual change delivery in a DevOps environment.
* Stakeholder Management – building relationships to understand and represent the product owners’ vision, desired outcomes, priorities and working environment.
* Bridging the Gap – bridge the gap between various teams, being able to speak technical as well as business language and to guide all stakeholders through the agile process.
* Facilitate workshops for requirements gathering or prioritisation of requirements with various stakeholders.
* Refine Requirements – build and prepare requirements as user stories, ensuring they are high quality and can be understood, solutioned and estimated by the development team.
* Prioritising requirements – with the help of other team members, ensure that continuous prioritisation is part of the teams’ culture, through regular product backlog grooming and refinement in line with the product owners’ priorities.
* User story and acceptance criteria creation – write clear and concise user stories together with the acceptance criteria for each.
* Test coordination – support both the development team and business team through the testing cycles, collating feedback and ensure this is fed back into the development team to be addressed.
Knowledge and Skills
* Gained or working towards an Agile BA qualification e.g. BCS Certificate in Agile Business Analysis.
* Understanding of agile principles and guidelines.
* Practical experience of working on agile projects or can demonstrate some experience of using agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
* Experience of using DevOps / Agile tools in a development lifecycle as a BA e.g. JIRA, Confluence or similar.
* Experience of using BA techniques for requirements gathering.
* Experience of supporting testing cycles – understanding of test scenarios, acceptance criteria and gathering test evidence and feedback.
* Demonstrable analytical skills – to enable informed decision making, idea generation and solving complex problems.
* Strong communication skills – effective communication (both written and verbal) with a focus on facilitating collaboration.
* Experience of defining, analysing, mapping and improving processes.
* Demonstrable ability to anticipate, identify and resolve problems to help keep the project on track.
* Demonstrable flexibility and adaptability to continually learn and improve.
