Receptionist (Maternity Cover) - £13.64 per hour

We are currently recruiting for a Receptionist to join our public sector client, the Ministry of Defence, on a maternity cover basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a role on the RAF base in Waddington, Lincoln, with a pay rate of £13.64 per hour. The role is set to continue until February 2026 .

Pay Rate: £13.64 per hour
Duration: Ongoing maternity cover until February 2026
Working Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday
Location: RAF base in Waddington, Lincoln
Parking: Free parking available (with additional parking nearby)
Staff Facilities: On-site staff room with fridge and microwave. Subway and Costa are also available on-site, and Messing catering facilities are accessible.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Reception Duties: Providing reception support within a medical environment, dealing with patients and staff
IT Literacy: Proficient with office systems, with experience in the Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP) highly desirable
Excellent Communication Skills: You will be the first point of contact for patients, so a professional and friendly manner is key
Administrative Skills: Strong organisational abilities and a willingness to learn new processes, including military-specific administrative tasks
Receptionist Duties Include:
Greeting Visitors and Clients: Welcome visitors, clients, and patients in a friendly, professional manner.
Answering Phone Calls: Handle incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate departments, or taking messages.
Scheduling Appointments: Book and manage appointments, confirm schedules, and update calendars.
Handling Emails and Correspondence: Manage incoming and outgoing emails, ensuring timely responses.
Maintaining the Reception Area: Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming.
Data Entry: Update patient or client records, enter data into systems (such as DMICP), and maintain accurate files.
Processing Deliveries and Mail: Receive and sort mail and packages for staff or clients.
Sending Appointment Reminders: Send reminders to patients or clients and reschedule as needed.
Administrative Assistance: Provide support with filing, photocopying, scanning, and other office functions.
Payment Handling: Process payments or insurance claims (if applicable).
Maintaining Health and Safety: Support security and safety protocols in the workplace.
Coordinating with Staff: Communicate with medical or administrative teams to ensure smooth operations.
Confidentiality: Ensure patient or client confidentiality is maintained in line with relevant regulations.
