Head of Client Development
Full Time,
Hybrid, Edinburgh, with some business travel required across UK.
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum.

This is a newly created role to drive growth and offers a unique client relationship management opportunity to join a small, innovative future-focused Business Development team – to help us shape ICAS’s future growth, play a key role in strengthening and enhancing current relationships whilst building stronger foundations for the future.

ICAS is a global professional body for Chartered Accountants, we educate, examine and lead, enabling excellence whilst always working for the wider public good. Formed by the Royal Charter in 1854, we have trained a lot of CAs since then, and in any given year thousands of students are working with us to achieve the ‘chartered’ goal.
We have a membership of 23,000 qualified CA’s, a qualification that has shaped an international business community spanning industries and continents.
What the job is?
As Head of Client Development, you will work closely with the Director of Business Development & Commercial and be part of our forward-thinking Business Development team, lead on key client relationships, drive strategic client growth, cross sell, build long-term strategic relationships with key clients, making a lasting impact on our growth and sector reach. This role also offers you the opportunity to lead, develop and inspire two BD colleagues, whilst creating future growth and strengthening relationships.
In line with our revenue growth and client diversification strategy, using research and intelligence you gather through a range of business development activities, you’ll have a key focus on building new and expanding partnerships with key accounts, including blue-chip organisations, and increasing satisfaction among existing ICAS Authorised Training Offices (ATOs).
Key Responsibilities:
* Client Growth Strategy: Develop and execute targeted strategies to increase student numbers and revenue, focusing on key clients and national expansion.
* Relationship Management: Act as the primary ICAS client contact, fostering long-term partnerships with senior stakeholders to ensure high satisfaction.
* Market Insight: Leverage industry knowledge and work closely with the Director of Business Development & Commercial to develop and align ICAS products with client needs, supported by market research and competitor analysis.
* Collaborative Expansion: Partner with marketing to create targeted content and events to enhance client engagement and ICAS’s national presence.
* CRM and Reporting: Utilise CRM tools, data, market insights to track opportunities, sector trends, hot topics and drive actionable insights.
Who we need?
You must have demonstrable experience in senior client management relationship and sales, ideally with national clients within professional services or education, with extensive experience in strong relationship-building skills and a consultative approach to meeting client needs and business growth.
A strategic thinker with hands-on experience in client relationship management aligned to achieving growth targets, whilst maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You will need to be a skilled communicator, experienced collaborator with a data-driven mindset and experience of promoting data led new opportunities and growth opportunities. You must be confident and able to work with internal stakeholders at all levels, with proven experience of proactively creating networks of contacts and prospects.
