Job Overview
The University Hospitals of North Midlands, Royal Stoke site is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic dietitian to work within the acute adult dietetic team. This position has become available as the current post holder has been promoted into a specialist role. This post would suit a newly registered dietitian or a dietitian who wishes to experience working in a busy acute teaching hospital with a wide range of specialties. Our band 5 positions rotate through medicine, surgery and older adults, working within specialist dietetic teams. Our preceptorship programme offers the opportunity to explore other specialties including dysphagia, bariatrics, gastroenterology, hepatology, oncology and catering shadowing our specialist dietitians.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful applicant will have an inpatient and outpatient caseload working closely with a well-established dietetic team which comprises of 65 dietitians and dietetic assistants in a wide range of dietetic services and specialties in one of the UK’s largest Acute Hospital Trusts. The dietitians work in collaboration with nurses, caterers and Speech and Language therapists to deliver dietetic care to patients in a busy acute environment. Best nutritional practice is embedded into the UHNM 2025 vision.
You will develop and take part in staff teaching, student training and support the team in audit and service developments including the Trust’s well established Care Excellence Framework which supports best nutritional practices across our sites. This post is ideal for a dietitian wishing to develop their skills; there is a good track record of introducing our dietitians to specialties and supporting career aspirations.

Experience
* NHS experience in clinical care

* Undergraduate dietetic experience in a wide range of professional practice areas
