A bit about the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ICA Engineer to join our team within the water industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of instrumentation, control, and automation systems that are essential for the operation of water treatment, distribution, and wastewater management processes. The ICA Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the effective operation of control systems that monitor and optimize water systems, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
What’s required:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Control Systems Engineering or related field.
* 10+ years in ICA engineering, preferably within the water industry; experience with PLCs, SCADA, and DCS.
* Strong knowledge of automation systems, problem-solving, and troubleshooting.
* Relevant certifications in control systems or automation (e.g., Siemens PLC) are a plus.
* Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it is highly desirable.
* Strong communication, teamwork, and willingness to travel to sites.
Role Duties:
* System Design & Installation: Develop, design, and install ICA systems for water and wastewater facilities.
* Programming & Configuration: Program PLCs, SCADA, and DCS to optimize process automation.
* Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and fault diagnostics to minimize downtime.
* Project Management: Lead or support ICA system projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
* System Optimization: Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation for system designs, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
