Morson is delighted to be working in partnership with a market leading Defence organisation to recruit a Procurement Administrator for an initial 6 month contract. There is a rate of £17.78 PAYE per hour on offer for the successful candidate. The role would involve a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days a week on site in Barrow In Furness and 3 days working from home. Please find the job spec. below: Role Description As a member of the Supply Chain team, primarily providing transactional procurement and supplier management support. Reports into either a Principal Procurement Professional or a Procurement Manager. Responsible for operational procurement activities including purchase order management, financial reporting, expediting and transactional supplier engagement. Core Duties Typical duties include: Purchase Order Management, ensuring: • Effective demand work queue management • Generation and issuing of transactional purchase orders, in accordance with WSUK governance and compliance protocols. • Timely expediting of supplier acknowledgements • Timely processing of invoices, aligned to agreed payment terms • Collation of topical data to support supplier reviews Purchase Order Book Management, ensuring: • Deliveries are expedited to agreed schedules • Purchase ledger reviews and reconciliation activities are administered • ERP system data topicality is maintained • Commitment reporting and debt management is exercised Management of suppliers, ensuring: • Supplier engagement is maintained, aligned to the latest supplier management framework, procedures and practices. • Risks and opportunities relating to operational and/or contractual performance are identified and escalated as appropriate. • Queries are owned and managed effectively • Effective contracting of applicable Terms, Conditions, Legislative flow downs and contractual requirements • Supplier visits are supported as required Contribute to tasks as necessary to support the achievement of the functions objectives, in accordance with process and procedures. The role holder: • Basic understanding of export control regulations and working with classified military materiel. • Basic understanding of ethical business practice in the procurement environment Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Functional Knowledge: Awareness of the following areas, with the expectation to enhance the personal skillset whilst performing the role: • Operational Procurement • Sourcing • Supplier Due Diligence • Negotiation and Influencing • Contracting and the Legal Environment • Cost Management • Risk and Opportunity Management • Supplier Relationship Management • Sustainability • Stakeholder Engagement Skills: • Practised in the use of IT packages including Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel. • ERP experience preferred (e.g. SAP, Oracle etc.) • Effective communication skills. • Proficiency in numeracy. • Practised problem solving and analytical skills. • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, managing and prioritising their workload with appropriate guidance, but also the ability to work alongside and deliver within a team.
