A leading international business providing critical solutions in clean energy, defence, and civils new build is currently recruiting for a Subcontract Procurement Lead on a full-time permanent basis.
Role: Subcontract Procurement Lead - NEC experience required
Type: Permanent
Location: Bridgwater (hybrid working, 2 days onsite per week)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
* Engagement with key internal and external project stakeholders as necessary.
* Compliance with procurement and safety processes.
* Lead partner company subcontract procurements.
* Liaise with the Construction team to understand their upcoming requirements and to develop and maintain the Partner Tender Event Schedule (TES).
* Raise Subcontracts in accordance with governance requirements to meet NNB HPC Project and business objectives.
* Identify procurement scope gaps and propose and implement mitigation measures.
* Complete reporting for management highlighting successes, blockers, mitigations, and forecast work.
* Demonstrate value for money by applying 'best for project' procurement principles.
* Production of procurement strategies, selection of tenderers, drafting and issuing of Invitation to Tender documents, leading the cross-functional team through the tender assessment process, and writing and presenting tender recommendation reports.
* Support post-award subcontract management, contract administration, and supplier performance management.
* Production of common Forms of Contract (NEC & bespoke Subcontracts) within the power construction industry and/or a major projects and programme environment.
* Negotiate subcontract terms with suppliers and seek agreement of those terms with both the Client and Partner company stakeholders.
* Maintain thorough records of procurement process steps undertaken and support reviews and audits as required.
* Make sound commercial decisions on complex matters of high financial value.
* Report to project management on subcontract procurement status, risks, and subcontractor performance.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
* Proven track record in subcontract procurement; extensive NEC contract experience is essential.
* Eligibility to gain baseline security clearance - BPSS.
* Good understanding of the UK regulatory framework.
* Committed to continuous improvement and able to apply this to project working practices and procedures.
* Leads by example, sets the right behaviours, and demonstrates a 'best for project' ethos.
* Can think laterally and flexibly to deliver solutions with a 'process-driven' focus to delivery.
* Demonstrates strong communication skills, liaising effectively with peers, other functions, delivery partner, and Client teams.
