Principal Clinical Psychologist and Lead CAMHS Tri-borough EIP Pathway
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Psychologist to take on a leadership role within the CAMHS Early Intervention in Psychosis Service. The post-holder, who will have experience working in EIP, will provide high quality specialist assessment, consultation, supervision and evidence based therapeutic interventions for children and young people presenting with Early Onset Psychosis. The post holder will provide leadership to the CAMHS EIP pathway across Greenwich, Bexley and Bromley alongside the psychiatry lead and EIP steering group, while working clinically in Greenwich. The role sits within the Adolescent team in Greenwich CAMHS. The Adolescent team is a multi-disciplinary team, developing a mentalisation based approach to working with children and young people experiencing a broad range of complex and persistent mental health difficulties.
Psychology Discipline Opportunities
The post-holder will be part of a large psychology team within Greenwich CAMHS. We offer excellent support, supervision, and opportunities for continued professional development. There are also established links with psychology across the three Oxleas boroughs with joint psychology CPD events. The team offers placements for trainee clinical psychologists and the post holder will have opportunities to supervise psychology colleagues.
Main duties of the job
* To provide clinical leadership to the CAMHS Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) pathway across Greenwich, Bexley and Bromley.
* To hold overall responsibility for ensuring that the Access and Waiting Time and Treatment targets for First Episode Psychosis set by the Department of Health (2015) are achieved across Greenwich, Bexley and Bromley CAMHS.
* To work clinically within the Greenwich CAMHS EIP and Adolescent pathway offering highly specialist psychological assessment, intervention and treatment for young people with first episode psychosis and a range of complex mental health needs.
* To provide specialist supervision and consultation to colleagues around psychosis, voice hearing and unusual experiences.
* To develop and maintain the workforce for the EIP pathway, along with borough seniors, and ensure training and development needs are met.

Job responsibilities
* To provide specialist expertise to all Oxleas CAMHS teams about identifying, assessing and providing interventions for young people with First Episode Psychosis (FEP).
* To provide specialist clinical supervision to clinicians including those working on the Greenwich CAMHS EIP pathway, and across the service.
* To provide specialist consultation to Greenwich CAMHS staff around identifying, assessing and providing interventions for unusual experiences.
* To lead on organising the provision of urgent initial assessments of suspected psychosis to meet the 2-week Access and Waiting Time and Treatment targets for First Episode Psychosis.
* To provide highly specialist assessments of children and young people referred to the Early Intervention in Psychosis pathway.
* To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a clients FEP and other comorbid issues.
* To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups.
* To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients within the Greenwich EIP pathway.
* To act as care coordinator for young people on the Greenwich EIP pathway where appropriate.
* To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options.
* To be responsible for the good clinical governance, quality, evidence-based practice and appropriateness of the work of all clinicians on the EIP pathway.
* To work in close collaboration with other CAMHS leads.
* To contribute to developing strong joint working relationships and practices across Greenwich CAMHS.
* To work with seniors on workforce development for the EIP pathway across the 3 boroughs.
* To lead on and complete the annual National Clinical Audit of Psychosis.
* To identify areas for Quality Improvement and to lead on quality improvement projects.
* To lead on relevant NICE guidance review.
* To lead on developing and delivering training across Oxleas CAMHS.
* To be responsible for liaising with extended networks.
Person Specification
Training and qualifications
* Doctoral level training in clinical psychology and HCP registration.
* Pre qualification training e.g qualifications in research methodology.
Experience
* Completion of two years post-doctoral post-qualification supervised clinical experience.
* Experience in the delivery and coordination of treatment for young people with a range of complex mental health difficulties.
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
* Experience in the delivery of assessments for those with FEP and complex mental health difficulties.
Knowledge and Skills
* Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.
* Qualification in CBT for psychosis in line with the NCAP requirements for EIP provision.
* Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies.
