My client is a high-performance design and engineering solution provider for the Automotive and Motorsport industry. They are now on the lookout for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their ever-growing team just outside of Towcester.
Key Responsibilities - Quality Engineer
1. Define, create, and manage a strategy for meeting the programme's quality requirements.
2. Ensure customers' requirements are met through establishing robust internal processes and providing engineering feedback where required.
3. Manage and continuously improve an agile quality management system and team.
4. Support FMEA activities.
5. Provide guidance to the inspection team and ensure quality best practices are followed.
6. Create close working relationships with suppliers to ensure the development of safety-critical parts is robustly manufactured.
7. Audit suppliers for approval or performance assessment of new and existing suppliers.
8. Develop strategies to ensure visual carbon composites are in line with customer requirements whilst maintaining a right-first-time mentality.
9. Utilise 8D principles as a basis for effective problem resolution and facilitate the resolution of complex, cross-functional issues.
10. Actively work with suppliers to collaboratively develop product specifications to align with process capability.
Qualifications & Experience - Quality Engineer
1. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
2. Evidence of client or customer-facing experience.
3. Proven and skilled use of CAD (CATIA v5 preferred).
4. Able to interpret engineering drawing requirements (GD&T).
5. Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications.
6. Ability to support the creation of specifications within budget and timing requirements.
7. An understanding of drawing office procedures and ability to adapt and implement as business and projects develop.
8. Ability to interrogate and analyse FEA, CFD, and simulation techniques as appropriate.
9. Proven skills in detailed analysis from first principles thinking.
10. Clear understanding of good working practices and processes.
11. Valid UK driving licence.
12. Auditing experience.
13. Understanding ISO9001 requirements.
