We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee/Assistant Site Manager to join our client on a project based in Tamworth. As an Assistant Site Manager, you will assist the management team with the day-to-day control of the site, management, and delivery of project works.

1. Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff, and supply chain within their control under the strict observance of the safety policy.
2. Working safely, stopping work if unsafe, and speaking up to address any safety concerns.
3. Maintain site cleanliness and presentation on site at all times.
4. Responsible for the successful completion of the overall project and to lead by example in all that they do, managing the day-to-day delivery of construction projects, quality, time, procurement, and contractors.
5. Manage sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress; provide direct instruction and support as necessary such that contractual arrangements are achieved.
6. Involved with the management of internal/external design team/consultants to meet project deadlines under supervision from a Contract Manager.
7. Produces and regularly reviews short term programmes in line with the overall project programme (including procurement & Design & Build) to ensure completion on time under the supervision of Contract Manager.
8. Liaise with Contract Manager to ensure that they are fully aware of project progress and are notified of all financial, specification, and time risks ensuring that all additional work is identified.
9. Understand and carry out the role-specific requirements of procedures and help to identify opportunities for improvement.
Experience:
1. Experience of working within established build programs.
2. Assertive to ensure delivery of targets by the on-site team and trades/labour.
3. Ability to prioritise tasks to meet changing business needs.
4. A member of the Chartered Institute of Builders and/or qualified to NVQ level in Construction Management or a time-served tradesman with considerable experience of the full range of construction trades.
5. In-depth knowledge of all aspects of the construction trade and the relevant legislative requirements e.g. Health and Safety, NHBC requirements, and Building Regulations.
6. Good knowledge, understanding, and experience of dealing with all issues relating to Customer Service.
