The business currently has facilities in Gloucester UK (Factory 1), Bristol UK (Hardware R&D Centre) and in Athens GR (Software R&D Centre). If you're ready to be part of a pioneering team that’s reshaping industries and pushing the boundaries of technology, we want to hear from you We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Buyer/Planner to join our team. In this key role, you will oversee procurement and supply chain activities, ensuring that the company's growth demands are met. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role with opportunities for growth. Responsibilities: • Enter customer sales orders on to the system ensuring sufficient capacity is in place to support delivery dates – advise internally if this is not available to understand alternatives. • Enter material purchase orders in the ERP/MRP system to support demand from MRP. • Provide Production with “Work to List” on a weekly basis. • Generate manufacturing Works Orders from MRP and provide to Production. • Ensure that optimal production methods are used when raising Works Orders. • Monitor work Centre capacity on MRP and recommend when extra capacity maybe required or how available capacity can be filled. • Reviewing and managing the status of purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery. • Evaluate current and future material demand to ensure best prices are obtained. • Make recommendations on min/mid/max levels of purchased components. • Ensure non MRP items have appropriate requisition sign off before raising PO. • Where alternative materials or multiple suppliers are available, oversee consumable inventory activities, seeking the lowest cost while retaining product quality, quantity, delivery, and services essential to the success of our manufacturing and engineering operational goals. • Participate in overseeing our external subcontractors and suppliers, including pricing, quality, service, productivity, and delivery. • Utilise our existing supply chain and operational processes, make ongoing recommendations for enhancements, and remain current on all activities. • Oversee and optimise the vendor-managed inventory process. • Plan, execute, and participate in the reconciliation of stock cycle counts. • Collaborate with our Engineering team on new product introduction procurement requirements. • Other duties and responsibilities as required and as business needs demand. Qualifications & Experience: • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management. • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Demonstratable willingness to develop a broad knowledge of the manufacturing requirements.
