Senior Building Surveyor – Full-Time
Location: Milton Keynes (projects primarily in Central & North London and surrounding local areas)
A dynamic and experienced Senior Building Surveyor is sought to join a growing team based in Milton Keynes. This is a full-time, permanent role involving a wide range of projects, primarily within the residential sector and insurance-related work. The position offers an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to thrive in a fast-paced, varied environment and contribute meaningfully to the team’s continued success.
Role Responsibilities
* Conduct inspections and provide expert advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of various types of buildings and sites.
* Deliver acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys, and defect investigations.
* Prepare detailed reports, schedules of works, and technical specifications.
* Design and oversee construction works using recognized building contracts and up-to-date technical standards.
* Independently manage high-value projects, delivering comprehensive professional consultancy services.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Health & Safety, Building Regulations, Party Wall Act, and Planning requirements.
* Actively promote surveying services to develop business opportunities.
* Provide guidance and support to APC candidates, fostering knowledge and professional growth.
* Adhere to all company administrative, personnel, and Health & Safety policies.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
* MRICS accredited (Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
* Strong knowledge and practical experience in building surveying, consulting engineering, architecture, and planning practices
* Proven track record in defect diagnosis and report writing
* Experience in insurance repair projects is highly desirable
* Leadership skills with a background in negotiation and project supervision
* Comfortable working to strict deadlines and managing budgets on large-scale projects
* Solid understanding of CDM Regulations 2015, Party Wall Act, and Building Regulations
* Analytical and methodical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* A flexible and adaptable approach to workload and project types
