An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and highly organised individual to join a Burnley-based primary school as a Business Support Officer, commencing in September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time only position.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the effective operation of the school’s office and wider administrative functions. Key responsibilities will include:
* Providing general administrative and clerical support to senior leaders and staff
* Supporting the management of HR, finance, attendance, and admissions procedures
* Acting as a first point of contact for parents, carers, and external visitors
* Maintaining and updating school systems and databases, including SIMS or similar platforms
* Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and data protection legislation
Person Specification:
Applicants must demonstrate:
* Previous administrative experience within a school setting or a similar environment (essential)
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong written and verbal communication abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management information systems
* A professional, discreet, and courteous manner at all times
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and proactive approach
