Main duties of the job
Provision of General Medical Services, Enhanced Services and work with the Primary Care Network, in accordance with the GMS and other practice contracts. Continuing professional development opportunities, and regular practice meetings.
About us
The practice currently has 2 GP Partners and 4 Salaried GPs. There is a lead nurse and 1 Health Care Assistant in post supported by 1 nursing associate, social prescriber, pharmacist technician and a first contact MSK Specialist.
The practice is also supported by an experienced admin team, with an admin leader in post.
Various Primary Care Network staff are currently being recruited that will also offer extended patient services.
We are a well-established team with a real family feel and would welcome prospective applicants in for an informal chat and tour of the Practice.
Job responsibilities
This document outlines the core activities and tasks you will be expected to undertake whilst you are working at the Practice. You will be required to undertake all the reasonable duties of a GP including any surgeries, home visits, medical examinations and all other day-to-day clinical duties that a Doctor in the Practice undertakes. However, you are not required to be involved with other issues relating to the Practice administration such as financial planning and business matters.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing healthcare and medical services to all patients
2. Participate in Duty GP rota, when scheduled
3. Travel within the practice area to attend home visits, when required
4. Dealing with paperwork, correspondence and test results associated with patient care
5. Providing choice to patients who are being referred for Secondary Care
6. Maintain accurate records electronically within agreed Practice procedures
7. Participate in and operate clinical governance methods and systems approved by the Partnership or Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin ICS
8. Dealing with medication queries raised by patients; along with prescribing and onward referral to internal and external clinicians, where appropriate
9. Review, action and complete tasks that are received by other members of the clinical and/or administration team that are pertinent to the effective care of patients
10. Follow-up results, x-rays and correspondence that you have generated yourself
11. Liaising with other members of the Primary Care Health Team and other agencies as appropriate
12. Carry out work considered outside the NHS, such as medical examinations, certificates and reports
13. Continuing professional development both scheduled in hours and at externally arranged learning events
14. Participating in monthly Clinical Meetings to review care provided to a range of patients

Qualifications
* Previous GP experience is desirable
* You must be a fully qualified GP on the GP Performers List
