Stonemason
LLocation: Alloa, of which you must be within a reasonable commute to. You will be working across Scotland and Northern England, primarily within Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Salary: Starting from £29,632 per annum, depending upon skills and experience
Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week, Mon - Fri
What you'll be doing
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a stonemason to join our team, carrying out structural maintenance of war graves and memorials across the central belt of Scotland, including the Alloa, Glasgow, and Edinburgh areas. As part of a team responsible for sites across Scotland and Northern England, you'll undertake various tasks such as constructing masonry structures, sourcing and shaping stone for repairs, engraving text on headstones, and building reinforced concrete headstone beams. You'll also liaise with cemetery authorities to ensure all work meets Commission standards.
Additionally, you will maintain records of your work, handle documentation for any additional tasks, and use IT equipment as needed. Your role will involve contributing ideas for the improvement and sustainability of cemeteries, reporting any structural defects, and representing the Commission at public events.
What you need to have
NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Stonemasonry OR practical experience in Stonemasonry or General Building environments
Reasonable knowledge of general building practices
Experienced in dealing with external contractors and suppliers
Reasonable understanding of Health & Safety
Proficient in using IT equipment (phone, tablet, etc)
