We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Facilities Compliance Team Leader to join a Leicester Prison. This role is based on-site.
This large FM and Maintenance provider helps keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.
The Facilities Compliance Team Leader
You will oversee the maintenance and compliance activities within the facilities' maintenance department. You will ensure that all maintenance work is performed in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
You will be responsible for:
1. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations by supervising and coordinating the activities of maintenance staff.
2. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify areas for maintenance or improvement and ensure compliance with standards.
3. Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal functioning of all facility systems.
4. Manage and maintain records of all maintenance and compliance activities, including permits, inspections, and corrective actions.
5. Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to develop and manage the department's compliance budget.
6. Provide training and guidance to maintenance staff on compliance-related matters.
7. Liaise with external regulatory bodies and contractors as required.
8. Respond to and resolve compliance-related issues promptly and effectively.
9. Support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
10. Ensure the health, safety, and security of staff, contractors, premises, and equipment by encouraging and monitoring best practices at all times.
11. Liaise with HMPS management to receive and manage expectations, ensuring all requirements are met.
12. Check and sign timesheets in accordance with procedures.
13. Assist in and supervise the delivery of a range of facilities services in line with contractual commitments.
About You
1. Previous experience of working within the Facilities/Estate management arena, with a strong focus on compliance and regulatory standards.
2. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, building codes, and environmental laws pertaining to facilities maintenance.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for dealing with customers and clients.
4. Team management, working on own initiative, understand deadlines and priorities.
5. Excellent organisational and leadership skills for the management of engineers.
6. Relevant certifications in facilities management, compliance, or a related field are preferred.
7. Ideally, you will be qualified in IOSH with experience in Facilities Management.
This is a temporary position initially, with the possibility of temp to perm.
