Dale Farm is a leading dairy company supplying a wide range of branded consumer products and food ingredients into the UK, Irish and international markets.
We are currently recruiting for a number of Shift Engineering Technicians at our major cheese, whey and powder processing plant at Dunmanbridge near Cookstown.
As a Shift Engineering Technician, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to providing best-in-class engineering support to the manufacturing operation. Your role is to optimise production performance, quality, and minimise plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs. The shift pattern will be 3 on 3 off 12-hour shifts. You will primarily work day shifts but will be expected to cover holidays and absences on night shifts when required.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing engineering support and repairs to manufacturing equipment, primarily on a 3 on, 3 off 12-hour day shift pattern.
* Supporting wider engineering team with sickness and holiday cover.
* Carrying out CMMS scheduled PPM tasks to minimize equipment failure rates.
* Optimizing machinery, plant, and building performance to reduce downtime and improve OEE.
* Collaborating with production colleagues to optimize process setups and control system configurations for maximum yield.
* Developing and implementing preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs, responding proactively to faults.
* Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs, and supporting engineering projects.
* Supporting installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
* Adhering to health, safety, environmental, and personal standards policies.
* Maintaining accurate records of all work performed.
* Ensuring tools and equipment are cared for and work areas are left clean and safe after tasks.
* Working as part of a flexible, interdependent team, ready to undertake additional reasonable tasks.
Specific Experience & Education:
Required:
* Completion of an electrical engineering apprenticeship or training with a recognized UK qualification.
* At least 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Motivated and capable of performing in a challenging, expanding, and pressurized environment.
* Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral).
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* IT literate.
Desirable:
* Experience in the food industry.
* PLC experience.
* CIP knowledge.
* Mechanical skills.
