As a Principal Engineer in Arms Productivity Engineering team you will be at the forefront of enabling Arm’s product development by driving automation, efficiency, and quality through structured, machine-readable specifications!. You will lead efforts to eliminate manual translations of specifications, enabling shift-left methodologies, reducing engineering waste, and accelerating time-to-market. Your work will significantly impact our engineering teams and partners by improving IP integration, verification, and system enablement.
What will I be accountable for?
Join an innovative team which is passionate about developing and supporting tools, methodologies and standards that Arm uses to create IP and System/CSS. You will be constantly challenged to come up with innovative solutions to interesting problems. Successful solutions will be used by multiple teams across Arm, and have an impact across the engineering organization. Specifically, successful candidates will:
* Drive the adoption and deployment of innovative MRS solutions across Central Engineering (CE) and Solutions Engineering (SE).
* Define and standardise end-to-end machine-readable spec flows for architecture, IP, and system-level integration.
* Lead the implementation of IP-XACT, memory maps, register automation, and system specifications into MARS workflows.
* Collaborate with architecture, engineering, software, and verification teams to align MARS with broader product development objectives.
* Advocate for "MRS as a Standard" across internal IP teams to ensure early adoption during IP development.
Job Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
To be considered for this position, you should have:
* Proven experience in the design, verification or automation of Arm IP, subsystems or SoCs.
* Strong programming and scripting skills in Python for automation and validation.
* Familiarity with Arm architecture, IP development lifecycles, and ecosystem enablement strategies.
* A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Electronic/Computer Engineering
"Nice to have" Skills and Experience
* IP-XACT (IEEE-1685) experience
* Good knowledge of both hardware and software domains
* Track record of driving shift-left methodologies and enabling early IP delivery for large-scale silicon development.
* DevOps' experience with git, gerrit and pipelines
* A high level of pro-activity and initiative
