About the Role
* Ensure the Power Station is a safe place to work and actively contribute to its safe, efficient and cost-effective running.
* Be responsible for the quality of your own work and recording the work carried out via the station’s computerised work management system (PRISM) and making recommendations for future activities.
* Ensure that all safety and environmental issues are reported immediately.
* Work to a high level of productivity in line with business requirements, whilst maintaining quality of work and taking pride in the highest standards of housekeeping during and at the end of your work.
* Undertake both routine and emergent maintenance activities relevant to the discipline as directed by the station O&M team.
* Understand station processes as required, for example stores, booking of spares, quality assurance systems, maintenance management systems etc.
* Take a proactive approach to improvements to maintenance activities and supporting station maintenance and operations as required.
* Work closely with O&M Technicians and Engineers to resolve complex or recurring issues outside of your competency.
Job Requirements and Experience
* Proactive and technically sound approach to Safety, Quality of Work, and achievement of Company and team Goals.
* Positive and team-focused attitude with excellent communication skills.
* Minimum NVQ level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline; apprentice-trained with at least two years of relevant experience.
* Strong understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations 1999.
* Demonstrable experience with Control and Instrumentation equipment in the process industry, including PLCs, transmitters, and hazardous area equipment.
* Competent in basic IT systems and able to provide technical advice to operations staff.
* High degree of self-reliance, self-motivation, and working time flexibility.
* Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels and know when to seek advice outside your responsibility.
Advantageous, Not Essential
* Underpinning knowledge and experience for working in Hazardous Areas. Hold a COMPEX (EX01, EX02, EX03, EX04) certificate.
* Smallbore tubing installation.

* An expected starting salary from approximately £42,000 to £50,000 depending on experience and up to 10% annual bonus.
