Leading precision engineering organisation requires an experienced CNC Setter to join their long-established team in Redditch. Successful candidate will be responsible for Setting and Operating Horizontal & Vertical CNC Milling machines to produce high-quality parts and components. Offered as a Permanent contract, with competitive pay rate based on experience.
Previous CNC experience is essential to fulfil the position of CNC Setter. Within this role you will be offered overtime, free car parking and company pension.
CNC Setter duties will include:
* Physically setting the machine up with different parts
* Loading the already written programme in, setting the machines up and proving the programme out
* Understanding of Fanuc based offline programming
* Online Program, set up, and operate 3 and 4 axis (X, Y, Z & A) milling machines to produce high-quality components to precise specifications
* Monitor production processes to ensure that they meet quality standards
* Strong knowledge of CNC programming using FANUC controls
* Plan machining by studying drawings
* Program milling machines by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; offsets, compensation, and conditional switches
* Calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
* Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards
* Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Skills/Attributes required by CNC Setter:
* Previous experience within a similar role within the machining industry (essential)
* Understanding of IATF 16949/ISO 9001 and its contribution to the business to help to achieve objectives
* Problem solving and tool improvement
* Must be able to work on own initiative
* Attention to detail
* Be organised and have the ability to prioritise and multi-task
* Be able to communicate effectively to own team and other departments
* Proven efficiency with working practices
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours: Monday to Friday 6am – 2pm/2pm – 10pm (rotating shifts) 40 hours p/w
Salary: £16 per hour, plus shift allowance
