The post holder will provide a high quality support service within the Endoscopy Department for both admin teams (bookings/reception teams), both across the Trust and as such, will need to be able to communicate well with patients and their relatives, the general public and a wide range of multi-professional staff, internal and external to the Trust. A versatile approach is essential and the ability to cope with a large number of different tasks simultaneously is a prerequisite of this post.
The Endoscopy Support Officer is responsible for ensuring the correct and timely input of patient information onto the Patient Administration System (PAS), observing the rules of 'real time data entry'. All aspects of this role should be carried out in line with Trust Policies and Procedures on data collection and confidentiality.
The Endoscopy Unit has five procedure rooms in order to carry out a wide range of endoscopy procedures.

Main duties of the job
The Endoscopy Office and department is a very busy speciality which is responsible for the validation and management of patient waiting lists for Endoscopic procedures within HDFT. This includes patients waiting for inpatient procedures as well as outpatient procedures and surveillance and also providing cover for reception/retrieval of patient medical records.
The administrative office supports the work of the clinicians and nursing staff within the department working closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and other departments.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general education - 5 GCSE's or equivalent.
* Willingness to undertake training and development in the role.
* Evidence of IT experience, significant experience in Microsoft Office.
* ECDL.
Experience
* Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other IT skills acquired through training and practical experience.
* Working in a fast-paced changing environment.

Salary: £24,071 to £25,674 a year per annum pro rata.
