If you thought that working in the local Council was boring, then this role will change your mind. Broxbourne Borough Council’s Community Development Team works with a wide range of partners to improve the quality of life and wellbeing for Borough residents of all ages. The team had over 115,000 attendances at its events, projects, services, and initiatives last year and we are looking for someone to support the team to achieve even more. The range of projects that the team delivers or commissions include, but is not limited to:
* Projects for children and young people
* Support to vulnerable people
* Health programmes
* Sports Development
* Support to the community and voluntary sector
* Town Centre and Park events
* Arts, Culture and Heritage
* Environmental Sustainability
You will be working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. The ability to make effective relationships with a wide range of internal, community, and statutory partners is essential, supporting and facilitating the development of projects that will make a positive impact in the lives of residents.
The role requires a strong candidate with effective verbal and written skills, numerate and analytical abilities, practical assistance with events and projects, a ‘can-do’ positive attitude, and to be highly organised. An awareness of the need for confidentiality is also important to this role.
The postholder will undertake an Event Assistant Level 3 apprenticeship.
This post is a two-year fixed-term contract.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
This role requires a disclosure and barring service check as it involves working with children and vulnerable clients.
