Global Business Development Director - Marine, London

Role Purpose
The Global BD Director leads the sales team within their sector, driving growth strategies to meet revenue targets. They implement business development plans aligned with Ricardo’s strategic goals, focusing on strategic planning, team leadership, client relationships, and cross-unit collaboration. The role involves working closely with Growth Solution leads and other units to ensure a unified 'One Ricardo' approach.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinate the sales team, including direct reports and cross-departmental stakeholders.
2. Develop and execute strategic sales plans in collaboration with senior leadership.
3. Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales team to achieve targets.
4. Manage forecasts, lead qualification, and order intake to meet sales goals.
5. Identify market gaps and communicate insights to enhance value propositions.
6. Differentiate Ricardo’s offerings and drive pipeline growth.
7. Maintain deep market knowledge and convert insights into strategic actions.
8. Represent Ricardo at industry events to promote the company.
9. Support marketing with value selling, market analysis, and promotional activities.
10. Ensure accurate reporting, CRM updates, and data-driven decision-making.
11. Travel as needed to support sector growth.
