BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art has exhibited the work of over 500 different international artists and has welcomed over 8 million visitors since opening in 2002. BALTIC is housed in the former Rank Hovis Flour Mill built in 1950. Ellis Williams Architects, London oversaw the redevelopment into BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.
The internal floor area covers 9979m² including a shop, café, rooftop restaurant, library, archive, viewing terraces alongside four galleries and performance and event spaces.
We are recruiting for a Facilities Technician, with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience to work as part of the Facilities Team within this iconic North East building.
This role will involve ensuring BALTIC is maintained and operated to a high standard, including support for events, exhibitions and activities in the building and off-site as required.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience of mechanical and electrical systems and have knowledge of modern building management systems. You will have good communication skills and a real commitment to customer service.
This position involves working on a rota basis including weekends, evenings & bank holidays.

Salary: £25,575
Contract duration: Permanent
Working hours: Full time 37 hours per week
Place of Work: Your usual place of work will be BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, South Shore Road, Gateshead.
