Environmental Health Officer (Food Safety) Location: West Midlands Start Date: October/November 2024 Rate: £45 per hour (umbrella, Inside IR35) Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week Duration: Until end of March 2025 Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Health Officer (Food Safety) to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the protection of public health by ensuring food safety standards are maintained across the Local Authority. Key Responsibilities: Carrying out inspections, investigations, and risk assessments of food premises within the local authority area Enforcing compliance with food hygiene legislation and industry best practices to protect public health Providing guidance and support to food business operators on food safety regulations and compliance requirements Investigating food safety complaints and food-borne illness outbreaks and taking necessary enforcement action when required Preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records of inspections and outcomes Essential Requirements: Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent, with EHRB/CIEH Registration (or equivalent) Significant experience in food safety enforcement, including conducting inspections and risk assessments in food premises – Local Authority desired In-depth knowledge of current food safety legislation and enforcement practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders Ability to work independently, manage workload efficiently, and handle complex cases If you are interested in the role, we would love to hear from you Please apply to receive more information.
