The University of Chichester is looking for a talented, passionate HCPC registered Physiotherapist to join its rapidly growing health care education team, based at the Chichester campus. As a result, the university is looking to appoint a full time Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy or two part time Senior Lecturers, with experience and interest of Cardio/Pulmonary Physiotherapy, to join our dynamic academic team at our Chichester Campus. There is the potential to undertake academic development with a Teaching qualification, a Masters or PhD level, as part of this role.
As a Physiotherapy Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Allied Health, your responsibilities will include leading in teaching and module co-ordinating for a contemporary Physiotherapy curriculum. You will enhance the student experience across our provision; providing students with a high-quality, research informed educational experience leading to an understanding of healthcare practice and the achievement of both academic and professional qualifications. This will involve teaching and learning activity, student recruitment, clinical placement support, assessment and research. There are opportunities to embrace interprofessional research and scholarly activity in the school and support collaborations with clinical colleagues to develop and prepare appropriate clinical placements including educational audit and clinical liaison. As a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Allied Health, there is the opportunity to develop your research and partner engagement alongside teaching commitments in your working year.
About you
The appointed postholder(s) will have leadership experience, have a good relevant undergraduate degree with further professional or academic qualifications at Masters level (or working towards) in Physiotherapy. You will be a practicing Physiotherapist currently on HCPC register for a minimum of 4 years and will be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). You will have experience of working as a Physiotherapist in the UK, experience of supporting students and ideally in the NHS. You will also demonstrate the ability to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn ideally drawing on some educational experience.
Your teaching will be informed by a combination of practical experience and/or research to support high quality learning and teaching, experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), and the use of technologies to enhance the learning, assessment of and feedback to students.
