Position Overview: As the Credit Control Officer, you will be entrusted with managing the firm's credit control function, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts and maintaining positive client relationships. You will be working closely with solicitors to ensure that billing matters are addressed efficiently. In addition, you will have responsibility for managing international accounts and multi-currency debt, handling foreign transactions, and ensuring payments are processed accurately. Key Responsibilities: Proactively manage aged debt by contacting clients and negotiating payment terms. Escalate overdue accounts as necessary to protect the firm's cash flow. Ensure invoices are accurately processed, and issue reminders and final notices in line with company procedures. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate smooth payment processes. Respond to queries quickly and professionally. Liaise with solicitors to ensure accurate billing and address any billing issues. Provide regular updates on outstanding debts and payment statuses. Resolve any billing disputes in collaboration with solicitors, ensuring swift and efficient solutions to payment concerns. Oversee international accounts, monitor foreign currency transactions, and ensure timely payments from overseas clients. Manage multi-currency debt, ensuring payments are received in the correct currency and taking action to mitigate the impact of exchange rate fluctuations. Prepare and deliver regular reports on the status of accounts, highlighting risks, particularly with international and multi-currency accounts. Contribute to the development and streamlining of credit control processes, particularly around international accounts and multi-currency debt collection. Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, legal regulations, and best practices in credit control. Skills and Experience Required: Strong understanding of credit control practices, particularly in managing international and multi-currency accounts. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Qualifications: AAT or equivalent qualification in finance/accounting (desirable but not essential).
