Job Description:
The EMEA Leveraged Finance Trading business is part of the Corporate and Investment Bank’s Global Credit Trading platform. It trades High Yield Bonds, Leveraged loans (performing, stressed, distressed, restructured), and restructured instruments including reorganized equity. We seek a desk analyst to cover Loans and Special Situations, focusing on opportunistic and stressed credits. Our clients include top European banks, credit opportunity funds, hedge funds, CLO investors, and private equity firms.
Job Summary:
As Vice President within the Global Credit Trading & Syndicate, EMEA Leveraged Finance Trading desk, you will join the situational research team as a desk analyst reporting to the head of desk research. Your role involves working with traders to generate trading revenues, manage desk inventory, and contribute to market making in complex credit situations. You will collaborate with senior team members and market participants to produce insights that drive risk decisions and market-making activities.
Responsibilities:
* Analyze a variety of credits to produce commentary and identify profitable trading opportunities.
* Assist traders in setting trading prices for credits.
* Partner with the sales team to source and pitch trading opportunities to clients.
* Manage credit inventory positions, including amendments, waivers, and restructuring.
* Identify risk-taking opportunities, including capital solutions for new money needs.
* Prepare ad hoc support materials and presentations for groups and clients.
* Network with market counterparts, legal advisors, and restructuring specialists.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in credit analysis, financial modeling, and valuation.
* Strong valuation and credit analysis skills, including cash flow modeling.
* Confident presentation and client interaction skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Understanding of debt documentation and legal frameworks.
* Strong work ethic and self-starter attitude.
Preferred Skills:
* Proficiency in written and spoken French.
* Experience in restructuring.
This role involves UK regulated activities and requires meeting UK regulatory standards, including potential approval by the UK FCA and PRA.
