Salary: Grade 9 from £53,302 - £62,829 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £66,437 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, through sustained exceptional contribution (pro-rata if part-time).

RSDO provides support to the Brunel Research Community to identify and secure external funding from UK and international funders, manage and oversee contractual and compliance aspects of research and innovation projects, facilitate research collaborations with external partners, including SMEs, and manage the commercialisation of our research to deliver societal impact.
We are looking to recruit an experienced individual to build research collaborations, generate research income and maximise the impact of the University’s research, in the area of Energy, Cleantech and Hydrogen. The post will report to our Senior Business Development Manager.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be required to drive engagement with relevant external stakeholders and to build strategic collaborations with industry, policy-makers and academic groups in the Energy, Cleantech and Hydrogen sectors aligned to Brunel’s areas of research expertise. This is a high-profile position and you will be part of a well-established, proactive research support and development team.
You should have extensive specialist technical and market knowledge and expertise in the Energy, Cleantech and Hydrogen sectors to provide credibility with both academics and external stakeholders. Proven experience of successful business development, in either a commercial or academic environment, is required together with an excellent knowledge of the research and innovation funding landscape. A good understanding of the strategic drivers in higher education is also essential. The post requires an extremely flexible attitude and an ability to deliver successful outcomes through a professional, responsive and creative approach. A Driving license will be required.
