Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School (Lewisham)

Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £95 - £115 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the school's SENCO to support children with a range of needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN across various year groups.
2. Assisting in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
3. Supporting classroom routines and adapting resources to meet individual learning needs.
4. Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate records.
5. Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.
About You:

2. Empathetic, patient, and positive in their approach to challenges.
3. Experienced in working with primary-aged children, ideally in an educational or childcare setting.
4. Adaptable and confident in building relationships with children, staff, and families.
5. Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
Essential Requirements:
1. Relevant experience supporting children with SEN.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE or equivalent).
4. Right to work in the UK and a willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
2. Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
3. Experience supporting pupils with Autism or Speech and Language needs.
