Graduate Software Developer
We currently have a vacancy within our IT department for a Graduate Software Developer. The position is office-based so you must be able to travel to Washington, NE38 9BZ daily.
IT is responsible for providing our staff with first-class support across our application landscape. The role is to ensure that our colleagues across the group receive prompt and professional service each time they deal with IT and that we work to not only quickly resolve issues but actively seek to prevent them from happening in the future by analysing and providing suitable fixes/programming changes to applications to improve performance and stability. As well as looking to optimise/streamline processes through controlled changes.
Main Duties
* To provide support; answering and resolving support queries either onsite or via phone or email
* Reviewing current systems and suggesting improvements which could improve performance both system side as well as process side
* To proactively monitor systems for events/issues and escalate to the appropriate member of the team
* To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles (ITIL)
* To take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues
* To ensure that Continual Service Improvement is at the heart of what we do on a day-to-day basis. Challenging the way things are done to improve our service
* Develop user-friendly applications/solutions
Skill and Experience
* Good working knowledge of SQL and C#
* Ability and appetite to learn new skills and technologies
* Analytical mind with problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience of developing for mobile IOS/Android
