Overview To assist in all aspects of underwriting and administrative processes for the High Value Homeowner Underwriters of the B&C Managed Underwriting Department. Responsibilities Underwriting To undertake all administrative duties in relation to the underwriting of new and renewal High Value Homeowners business. To include Monitoring and setting up renewal risks for review by underwriters, Production and processing of binders for coverholders and prepare new business submissions including provision and review of supplementary information such as maps, photographs and hazard scores from proprietary and external tools, to assist in underwriters review of individual risks. Assist Underwriters with all aspects of the management of the High Value Homeowners business. To include: assisting with monitoring the performance of the business, maintenance of databases and documents relating to the underwriting process, liaison with Coverholders, Brokers and other Departments as necessary, assist with overall growth and development of the business and business travel overseas in the course of duties and responsibilities. Statistics and Information: Regular production, distribution and analysis of statistical reports including: Quote Tracker, Aggregate information, Triangulations, Rates, In-force data, Production, Claims data and other ad hoc reports as required by Underwriters. Assist Underwriters with the coordination and preparation of Coverholder/Broker meetings – virtual and in-person - and other routine and ad hoc meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Liaise with Underwriters to prepare and provide all required documents and reports to attendees prior to meetings. Compile, file and distribute meeting notes. Key Skills and Experience Experience in an underwriting support role is preferred but not essential Accuracy and attention to detail Strong interpersonal, team working and communication skills, both written and verbal The ability to absorb and synthesize technical information Confident decision-making skills Numeracy and statistical skills Problem-solving skills and a logical approach to work Self-motivation and the ability to anticipate the needs of the team Must be organised and able to prioritise tasks in order adapt to tight and changing deadlines Should have foundation level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Benefits This position is offered on a Permanent basis. Annual salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. Annual leave - 25 days per year (plus bank holidays), increases with length of service.
