Assistant or Seasoned Quantity Surveyor required Start date: January 2025 (can wait their notice period if applicable) Experience: 1-3 years Position: Full time in the office with site visits as required (no WFH) Some cladding experience required Ability and willingness to estimate/price projects. Will consider an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or a recent graduate that is willing to learn and grow within the façade industry My client is a building envelope specialist contractor-based operating in London, Southeast and Liverpool. They work as a specialist sub-contractor for Tier 1 main contractors. They also act as a Principal Contractor in cladding remediation schemes. There current turnover is around £15m per annum with a new of reaching £50m in the next 5 years. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Quantity Surveyor. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost control, BOQ, cost management, cost planning, and cost reporting on various projects new build and cladding remediation projects. Qualifications Proficiency in relevant software (MS Excel & MS Project) In-depth knowledge of cladding systems, materials, and installation techniques Ability to work effectively in a team Relevant Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field Proficiency in relevant software (MS Excel & MS Project) Measurement of drawings using Cost X/Bluebeam Software In-depth knowledge of cladding systems, materials, and installation techniques. Ideally an in-depth understanding of subcontracts (JCT Design & Build) Previous experience working under a building envelope specialist sub-contractor is a plus Previous experience in an estimating role is a plus Responsibilities Estimate, prepare and submit detailed cost plans, bills of quantities and other tender documents Conduct detailed measurement and valuation of works on-site Valuation of works and collation of associated documentation for CVR, cash flow forecast and sales forecast. Monitor and manage orders, deliveries, and invoicing of materials. Monitor and manage sub-contractor orders, approvals, and payments. Attend site meetings as required. Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and final accounts Pricing variations and changes in line with subcontractor parameters Perform cost exercises for clients, including Value Engineering Work closely and report to Commercial Director.
