GBR Recruitment Ltd, are working exclusively with a leading Steel Construction & Civils company, who deliver bespoke full turn key solutions to various end using clients, recruiting for an experienced Assistant Management Accountant, who is AAT part qualified (working towards being fully qualified) or fully AAT qualified, or CIMA or ACCA.\n\nThis role reports into the Head of Finance & carries out a multitude of accounting / finance tasks including the preparation of management accounts, P&L variance analysis inc. anomalies, pre-payments & accruals, balance sheet reconciliation's, reconciling monthly control accounts (inc. bank & inter-company), sales & purchase ledger support, producing weekly & monthly flash reports, plus month end & year end support (inc.
audit support).\n\nA great chance for you to develop your accounting career further, with you being supported by a Head of Finance that is passionate about developing others to succeed & progressive in their careers.\n\nDuties:\n\nManagement accounts:\n\n * Assisting in preparation of management accounts.\n\n * Preparation, review and analysis of the P&L including variance analysis.\n\n * Ownership of the month end task list through liaising with internal stakeholders to meet deadlines.\n\n * Identify anomalies and mis-posting in the P&L and recommend and prepare journals to amend.\n\n * Update Prepayment and Accruals schedules for review by the Financial Controller each month.\n\n * Prepare and post monthly credit card statements\n\n * Support the Finance Assistant with posting supplier invoices, ensuring timely and accurate entries.\n\n * Payroll administration processing monthly payroll, managing leavers and starters and ensuring compliance with regulations.\n\nBalance Sheet:\n\n * Full ownership of Balance Sheet monthly reconciliation's for FC review and approval.\n\n * Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and recommending aged/slow moving items for Stocktake preparation.\n\n * Reconcile monthly control accounts, including Bank and Inter-Company\n\nAdditional reporting:\n\n * Support budget tracking and forecasting activities\n\n * Provide Sales and Purchase ledger cover as and when required.\n\n * General finance administration, assisting with ad-hoc tasks and providing support to the wider team.\n\n * Preparing weekly and monthly trading, flash and financial reports to Group.\n\n * Support the finance controller throughout the Audit Year End process.\n\nAttributes:\n\n * AAT, CIMA or ACCA, full or part qualified.\n\n * Strong Excel skills\n\n * Experience of XERO accounting systems would be ideal (not a must)\n\n * Experience of Auto Entry accounting system would be ideal (not a must)\n\n * Construction industry or Engineering industry background would be useful, but not essential (can be from any industry sector).\n\nThis is a great chance to join a highly progressive & highly successful construction company, that offers real career development & wider opportunities for its employees.\n\nInterviews to take place immediately with a May start for the right applicant.\n\nThis role could also suit someone working as an Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant, Junior Accountant, Accounting Assistant, Management Accountant, Accountant, Office Manager, or similar job titles with similar tasks.\n\nThis position is commutable from those living in Nottingham, Leicester, Loughborough, Derby, Coalville, Melton Mowbray, Grantham, Newark, Oakham, Stamford, Bourne, Sleaford, Hinckley, Nuneaton, Newark, Retford, Mansfield & Corby.\n\nInterviews to take place WC: 21/04/25
