About Our Client
We are delighted to be supporting a rapidly growing, top 25 accountancy practice in Woking with their recruitment of a Business Tax Manager/Assistant Manager.
Job Description
1. Reviewing and managing a portfolio of business tax clients to ensure compliance requirements are met.
2. Preparing and/or reviewing tax provisions and tax notes under UK GAAP and IFRS for clients.
3. Preparing and/or reviewing deferred tax calculations.
4. Advising on corporation tax quarterly instalments.
5. Identifying and advising on large corporate and international tax issues such as SAO, Tax Strategy, BEPS Pillar II and CBCR.
6. Advising and assisting OMBs in respect of their business and tax requirements for example succession planning, remuneration planning, timing of capital expenditure and capital allowances planning.
7. Advising and supporting entrepreneurial businesses throughout their lifecycle including determining the right business structure, incentivising staff, growing internationally, and building and protecting value for the shareholders.
8. Managing and reviewing the preparation of P11Ds and PSAs.
9. Managing and reviewing the preparation of ERS and EMI returns.
10. Managing and reviewing ATED returns.
11. Advising on exit planning such as CPOS and MBOs.
12. Broad knowledge of other tax areas which are dealt with by other specialist teams, such as VAT and R&D.
13. Proactively involved in networking, proposals and growing the corporate tax portfolio.
14. Training and mentoring junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team, including helping trainees keep up to date with training and Apprenticeship Scheme obligations.
15. Monitoring reporting and payment deadlines.
The Successful Applicant
1. ACCA/ACA/ATT/CTA tax advisor with minimum one year's PQE.
2. Corporate tax technical and practical knowledge.
3. Good knowledge of tax issues affecting OMB's and their shareholders.
4. Good knowledge of tax issues affecting large corporates.
5. Good knowledge of tax accounting.
6. Ability to listen to guidance and willingness to learn and develop.
7. Shows initiative and an ability to self-manage, taking ownership of projects and capable of acting autonomously with support where required.
8. Inspires confidence in others.
9. Communicates effectively both in writing and verbally, leveraging support from more senior colleagues when needed.
