A little bit more about your role and the team … As Graduate Land Consultant based in our Belfast office, you will be directly supporting the WSP Land team in the identification of landowners, occupiers and other parties that hold a legal interest in land, through interpretation Land Registry titles and interviews with landowners and other land interests. You will also support the delivery of landowner engagement, survey access agreements and public consultation through all stages of infrastructure development from scheme introduction through to the consenting stages / statutory processes. As part of the WSP Land Team you will be contributing to the success of high-profile infrastructure projects within Ireland and the wider UK business. You will be supporting projects on a variety of projects across the Energy, Water, Road, Rail and Local Authority sectors. You will be part of our WSP team based in our modern Belfast Waterfront Office, which is made up of land consultants, Highways engineers, environmental and planning specialists and water engineers. We work closely with our 250 Land colleagues across the UK and Ireland We are the largest Land Referencing business in the UK and Ireland, having supported high profile projects such as the A5, North South Interconnector, NM20, A4 Dualling and Magherafelt Bypass as well as HS2. We support infrastructure projects that are critical for the deployment of renewable energy, to help the UK and Ireland economies to achieve net zero carbon emissions. We actively support people in achieving professional accreditations and have Chartered Geographers (CGeog), Chartered Town Planners (RTPI) and Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) who can support your career progression. This role will report to a Consultant / Senior Land Consultant. Full training will be provided combined with learning on-the-job as part of our projects. We are flexible with the role location and can combine this with home working in a hybrid role. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA You’ll have graduated with at least a 2:2 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in Geography or another relevant discipline such as Planning, Environmental, or Agriculture related degree which has provided you with an understanding of land-use and/or land ownership. You will be ideally looking to start in our April intake Demonstrable experience of desktop researching so that you can apply your skills to the process of identifying landowners/occupiers, land interests and rights in land. Flexibility to travel to site as and when projects dictate, as there may a need to meet with landowners and stakeholders.
