Social Worker - Exploitation Overview of the Role As a Family/Adolescent Safeguarding Social Worker, you play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of children, adolescents, and families. Your mission is to protect vulnerable individuals, assess risks, and provide support to maintain family stability. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including police officers, nurses, and youth workers, to address complex issues related to child exploitation and missing children. Your work will directly impact the lives of young people, promoting positive outcomes and preventing harm. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of families and adolescents at risk. Develop and implement care plans that prioritize contextual safeguarding. Work collaboratively with external partners (e.g., voluntary organizations, Youth Justice Service, and Housing) to provide holistic support. Address child criminal and sexual exploitation through restorative practices. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for legal purposes. Qualifications and Requirements Relevant social work qualification (e.g., degree in social work). Registration with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Health and Care Professions Council in the UK). Knowledge of Contextual Safeguarding principles. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse individuals. Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to positive outcomes for children and families. Salary and Benefits Salary : The salary for this role is £33,024 to £43,421 per annum, plus a £7,000 Market Forces Supplement (grade and salary subject to experience).
