Overall Purpose
The Property Management Department is responsible for the maintenance of the commercial and historical properties of the Rothschild Foundation and Waddesdon Estate, including residential and commercial properties. The Maintenance Operatives (MOs) provide general maintenance for all properties as required.
Activities within the role are varied and wide-ranging, from repairs and property improvements, hanging artwork to complete refurbishments, and gardening and ground works to ensure the continual upkeep and maintenance of the estate. Occasional travel to London to provide maintenance support here may also be required.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake a range of building and grounds maintenance tasks, both reactive and preventative, working either individually or as part of the team.
* Work with contractors and consultants as required by the Head of Property Maintenance or Works Foreman.
* Prompt and professional communication with tenants, stakeholders and Waddesdon/Rothschild Foundation departments as required.
* Be aware of or check current Health & Safety best practices when carrying out works.
* Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the tasks being carried out.
* Assist in keeping all workshops, works vehicles, plant rooms and storage areas in a clean, organised and safe condition at all times.
* Respond to any disaster/emergency situations as they arise.
* Use any of the assigned maintenance vehicles and equipment as required to carry out the various tasks.
General Attributes
* Punctual, reliable, motivated and a willingness to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Customer friendly and able to work in and around the public and with internal departments.
* A good level of communication skills is essential.
* A full clean UK driving licence is essential.
* Knowledge of safe working practices, risk assessment requirements and Health and Safety legislation is desirable.
* Work at heights and hold a current licence for using mobile elevated work platforms is desirable.
Terms & Conditions
Contract type: Permanent, full time
Hours: Minimum 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm with one hour unpaid lunch break, 3.30pm finish on Friday.
Salary: £27,000 per annum
Holiday: Annual Leave - From start date 33 days increasing to 36 days after 3 years’ continuous service. 38 days after 5 years’ continuous service. 40 days after 10 years’ continuous service (bank holidays included).
