Location: Must be commutable to one of the below Home Office locations: Belfast, Newport.
Role overview: Successful candidates will be working for the Home Office as an Executive Officer within the department ASRA (Asylum Support, Resettlement and Accommodation).
This will be a new role within the HOLO team (Home Office Liaison Officer) and you will be helping to provide administrative support to the wider HOLO team as well as colleagues in local authorities and other partner organisations by acting as a point of contact and providing advice and support.
Post holders will be interrogating systems and reviewing cases, providing clear updates on cases and signposting to next steps with particular issues.
Responsibilities:
* Responsibility will include stakeholder management to escalate and resolve issues and overcome barriers.
* Working alongside multiple internal and external agencies including but not limited to LAs, charities, DWP, MHCLG, and housing contractors.
* This work is high profile and can be subject to ministerial scrutiny, so post holders would need to be able to manage multiple competing deadlines.
* Provide administrative support to the wider HOLO team.
The individual should be highly organised, self-motivated, and able to react quickly and calmly to changing circumstances. They should be able to demonstrate the following:
* The ability to be proactive and work both as part of a team and independently.
* Substantial experience of working in a supportive role with the ability to train and support others to complete tasks with little or no support.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work flexibly with the capacity to deliver at pace, at times under pressure and to demanding deadlines.
* Experience of coaching or mentoring staff to improve quality of work and performance.
* Knowledge of asylum processes and Home Office systems.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
* Working knowledge of asylum operations.
This is a physically demanding operational role that requires candidates to complete personal safety training at level 2. This is a mandatory requirement. Failure to successfully complete the training will preclude an individual from undertaking the role.
You will be required to undertake security clearance for these roles, and it is imperative that you hold a valid passport and can provide two proofs of current address and a proof of national insurance document.
Start dates will be confirmed once security checks are complete, which can take up to 8 weeks.
