The Associate Cyber Security Manager will manage operational security issues. The particular focus of the role is the management of DVSA’s security assurance/accreditations for systems considered business as usual (BAU) together with monitoring the systems for compliance with DVSA Security Policy and raising risks as necessary.
The main areas of the role’s work include assisting in the formulation of and monitoring the application of system security policies, embedding information security best practice in DVSA’s business operations, assessing/auditing third party security, managing breaches of security and ensuring that DVSA complies with relevant legislation and standards.
Your work will help ensure the safety of citizens on Great Britain’s roads and contribute to keeping Britain moving safely and sustainably.

You will
* Ensure the timely production, review and maintenance of security assurance documentation to DVSA agreed standards for IT systems and applications.
* Ensure appropriate protective monitoring is in place through each DVSA product being assured. Supports this process and reports compliance.
* Provide advice to address identified Cyber Security related risks by applying of a variety of security capabilities, which may include using published guidance, standards or experts as appropriate.
* Provide wider Information Assurance advice to Information Asset Owners, project leads and service owners, to address cyber security related risks and business continuity planning and compliance with HMG standards such as the GoveAssure/Security Policy Framework and appropriate published guidance, standards using IMS security colleagues and third-party providers.
* Ensure a prompt response to security incidents, ensuring that the matter is resolved and information is passed to relevant Government bodies.

This role can be based in Bristol, Swansea, Nottingham, Newcastle, Oldham, Birmingham or Leeds your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
