About the Role
You will manage a diverse caseload, supporting children and families in various challenging situations. Your work will include conducting assessments, planning interventions, and implementing effective action to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
This role will also give you the chance to build partnerships with external agencies and contribute to maintaining high-quality service delivery. Whether you're newly qualified or looking to consolidate your expertise, this position offers a supportive environment to grow and make an impact.
Key Responsibilities Handle a caseload of children and families, including complex cases, ensuring effective planning and intervention.
Work in partnership with families, carers, and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely records using agreed systems.
Keep up to date with changes in legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Prepare and present applications for submission to family courts, where necessary.
Participate in training and development opportunities to meet Social Care Capability Framework (SCCF) requirements.
Collaborate with foster carers and adoptive parents where needed, supporting the fostering and adoption process.
What Were Looking For Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (Dip HE/Degree or Post Grad) and HCPC registration.
Newly qualified candidates must complete the ASYE standard within two years of qualification.
Experience: Relevant experience in Children and Families services.
Familiarity with systemic practice models such as Signs of Safety is desirable.
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
Strong report-writing skills and the ability to undertake high-quality assessments.
Organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and work both independently and within a team.
Knowledge: A working knowledge of child development and attachment theory.
Familiarity with legislation, policies, and frameworks related to Looked After Children, Child Protection, and Children in Need.
Understanding of factors affecting families, such as mental health, domestic abuse, and substance misuse.
